You must have installed Windows XP service pack 2 to properly install GuruGranthSahib.com Gurmukhi Keyboard.
- Installation
- Unzip GGSKB.zip to a temporary folder such as c:\temp
- Confirm you have all the following files:-
- GGSGurmkhiKB.msi
- i386 Folder containing file GGSGurmk.dll
- main.jpg
- shift.jpg
- shift_ctrl.jpg
- install_guide, this document.
- Double click GGSGurmkhiKB.msi to launch installer.
- Installation will be done without further user input and after successful installtion
following dialog will be displayed.

Click close to exit installtion.
- Now open Control Panel.
- Click on Regional and Language Options.
- Choose "Languages" tab and click on "Install files for complex scripts and right-to-left
languages (including Thai)"
- Following dialog box is displayed, click "OK".
At this point you might need Windows XP installation discs, from which you initially installed Windows XP.
- Now again open "Regional and Language Options" dialog box from Control
panel and click on "Details" button.
- "Text services and Input Languages" dialog box opens. Click on "Add" button.
- "Add Input Language" dialog box opens, choose "Punjabi" from the
"Input Language" dropdown.
- Choose "GGS Gurmukhi Unicode" from "Keyboard layout/IME" dropdown.
- Now you should be able to see "GGS Gurmukhi Unicode" listed under keyboard under "Punjabi"

Click on "Apply" button which will enable "Language Bar" button.
- Click on "Language Bar" button.

- "Language Bar Settings" dialog box opens. Check all options and click OK.

- Now you should be able to see language bar on top right corner of desktop.

- Click on language bar and you will see all the languages installed. Click on "Punjabi" to start typing in punjabi.

- Open "Notepad" and type "vahigurU" you should be able to see

- Uninstallation
- For uninstalling the GGS Gurmukhi Unicode keyboard, open "Regional and Language Options"
from Control Panel and click "Details" button on "Languages" tab.

- "Text Services and Input Languages" dialog box opens. Select "GGS Gurmukhi Unicode"
and click "Remove" button.
- Click on "OK"
- Open "Control Panel" and click on "Add Remove Programs"
- Choose "GGS Gurmukhi Unicode" and click on "Remove"
- Known issues
If you do not remove "GGS Gurmukhi Unicode" from "Regional & Language Options" first and instead try removing from "Control Panel", uninstall fails.
